Who is Antonio?

My name is Antonio Šakić and I have been a professional driver for 12 years. For the last 5 of those I have been running TAXI Antonio on my own, handling every booking, every pickup, and every drop-off personally. No middlemen, no call centres, no dispatchers. When you book with me, you deal with me from the first message to the moment I drop you off.

I was born in Šibenik and spent most of my life there, but my parents are from Piramatovci, a small village in the Šibenik-Knin hinterland, and I know this region the way only a local can. The roads, the shortcuts, the seasons, the quiet spots that most visitors never find. That local knowledge is something no GPS or travel platform can replicate.

Skradin is one of my favourite places in all of Dalmatia. There is something about arriving to Krka by boat from Skradin, watching the canyon turn into waterfalls – that never gets old. I have made that trip with my wife and kids more times than I can count, and I still find it genuinely beautiful every time. When I take guests there, that enthusiasm is real.

Over a Decade Behind the Wheel

Twelve years of professional driving means I have seen almost every situation on the road. Early morning airport runs in February with ice on the highway. Last minute bookings at midnight. Guests with more luggage than the boot can hold, and guests who just want silence and a smooth ride. I have learned to read what people need and deliver it without being asked.

The first 7 years I worked as a professional driver for others. Five years ago I started TAXI Antonio as my own business, because I wanted to do things my way. Fixed prices. Direct communication. One driver, one car, one standard. No compromises on punctuality or cleanliness. No passing bookings to someone else when I am busy. If I cannot take a booking, I tell you directly rather than sending a stranger.

In 2023 I officially launched TAXI Antonio and have since built a reputation with travellers who found me through Viator, Tripadvisor, and word of mouth. Every five-star review I have received means more to me than any advertising campaign, because it comes from a real person who trusted me with their time and their journey.

Why I Work Differently

There are plenty of ways to book a taxi in Croatia. Apps, agencies, aggregators, shared shuttles. All of them can get you from A to B. But none of them give you the best part of the journey, which is actually enjoying the ride.
